The Good News On Pizza Crust

Well, I guess the newest thing the media has found out is that Pizza can be good for you. Well, if you use the right ingredients and that starts with the crust. As they said on the news today, (and if your like me, you already knew this), whole wheat crust is the first key to a healthy pizza. It can be good too. I have had it. You just have to buy it somewhere that well, knows how to make it or, the best thing would be to make it yourself. Well,of course the media then had to state that it's the toppings that are bad for you.
So I'm here tonight to tell you that doesn't have to be the case. Nope. For instance, have you ever tried turkey pepperoni? It's great. No, don't laugh it really is good stuff. It's loaded with flavor because of the fact that it is turkey so I think it's actually better than regular Pepperoni and thats tough to do.

For those of you that love Sausage, try the Sausage made of turkey as well. Get the good stuff and make it the Italian turkey sausage and you won't be unhappy. It's really good.

Cheese is a pretty big downfall of pizza and to be honest with you, I really don't like a pizza with low fat cheese. Not really. So, if you use any toppings like the turkey I have suggested, I figure you can have just about any type of cheese you want. Some people like to put blue cheese bits all over the pizza along with pepperjack cheese. Gives it a really yummy flavor. But me, I stick with Mozarella cheese for the most part.
Of course any veggies on your pizza are great for you. And if you like, stick some pinapple on there as well. It's all yummy.
So, the next time you want a pizza but not the calories, try my suggestions and let me know.
Until the next time. Eat to live don't live to eat.

Eating Right BUT Keeping the Flavor

A lot of people hate dieting. They hate it so much that I even hate the word. So, I use the word live and I live it every single day. Why? Because simply put, you can't survive without food. You can make much smarter choices but you can still eat yummy food.

First of all, the keyword here is FLAVOR!!! Make sure your food has some zip to it. If you like spicey food then make sure you do that. Spice it up. That doesn't mean you have to make it so hot your tongue sweats or worse you sweat. But make the food you love to eat flavorful. I'm going to give you MY favorite low-fat high flavor chili recipe right now. Adjust it to your taste buds but I'll tell you this much. It's low in fat, high in taste and after a bowl (hey, with this, you can even have two), you won't feel guilty that you've eaten something bad. Enjoy

1 pound ground turkey. (Yep, turkey
1 brown onion (this can be red or white though)
1 28 oz can of chili beans
1 28 oz can of crushed tomatos
chili powder
cumin

This is really simple and it makes the entire house smell great. Here's what you do.
Brown the onion and the turkey. Drain.
In a big stock pot add the chili beans and tomatos and heat on low. After the meat mixture is drained, add it.
Then, (and this is where your tastebuds come in) add as much cumin and chili powder as you like.
For 3 o'clock chili I just add 1/2 of a palmfull of chili powder and about the same for the cumin.
But you can make it hotter or milder. Keep some onions reserved for the topping.

Cook it for about 3 hours and there you go. This is so low in fat you can even put some cheese on top along with the onion or, add a dolop of low fat sour cream.

I'll be back sooner with more but until then, eat healthy but mostly, eat to live don't live to eat.

Exercise IS good for you

Hello there. Yes, you read that right. Exercise is good for you. It helps, it really does. So many people actually hate it but I for one can't live without it nor, do I choose to.

I actually LIKE eating. I enjoy it. That being said, it's just not good to over indulge as many of us Americans do. The facts are that if you eat a lot you'll gain a lot. True or false? Actually, it depends on WHAT you eat most of the time and not how much you eat. You can eat a ton of Veggies and it really won't matter how much you eat. Of course it also depends on how you cook them. Frying Zuchinni is a yummy thing to do but not too healthy. That's like saying, well, I had onions for dinner because I had onion rings. LOL. Sure the onion is/was good till you fried it.

There are a lot of yummy ways to eat and a Lot of bad ways. More of them. I'm going to give hints and tips to everyone that reads this blog. Got a ? write me,

Annie
